New Judges on So You Think You Can Dance

Per the Facebook fan page, Mia Michaels and Adam Shankman have been announced as permanent judges this season.  They will sit along side Nigel Lythgoe.
So what happened to Mary Murphy?  More importantly, has the Hot Tamale Train chugged its sequined way along The So You Think You Can Dance railroad for the last time?

  • I thought Shankman was permanent as of last year? As far as Mia Michaels goes...I'm glad she's coming back to the SYTYCD family, however her position on the panel of judges makes me sad as we likely won't be seeing much of her choreography. Hopefully Travis Wall will be making more frequent appearances as a result.

Sorry, yeah. Shankman was permanent last year, but I think there was some question as to whether he'd return in the same capacity for this season. I, for one, am glad he's back.

I'll miss Mia's choreography, but I think she could use a little creative break. Maybe she'll choreograph one of the group numbers like Nigel has done in the past.

And, yes, the world needs more Travis Wall. Always.

Whatever the situation over at SYTYCD, though, I am one happy Don't-Think-I-Can-Dancer because my beloved Neil is returning this year.

    Thanks for the comment!

Oh, I'm sorry. Haskell has already been claimed by me. Take a number!! ;)

This is just what my husband wants to gushing over Neil for another season.

We had a clip of Neil cued up on our Tivo for about a year and a half (just to provide a little ray of sunshine on cloudy days). I need to find the clip on the Youtubes.

  • Hmm...wait a minute...I wonder if this means Mary will be doing some Choreography?

  • In reply to RunningJayhawk:

Good point. I hope so. And I hope Nigel can handle the weight of the ballroom critiques on the panel. Mary's expertise will be missed (though her screams and antics will not be).
