Third place: Picks & Ponderings: An Important Lesson in Horse Racing
Why: What I liked so much about the post was how Paul wrote in the language of horse racing while also revealing some of the psychology that goes along with betting on horse racing. For those of us who don't go to the track this was a post that helped me to understand why people spend their summers at Arlington.

Second place:I Hate My Developer: The True Fear Of Unemployment
Why: Great headline, great opening line and one of the bravest posts I've seen on ChicagoNow. The whole "True Fear Of Unemployment" series is a must-read.

First place: Let's Get Back To Real Music: Always and Forever. The DJ used to play a slow jam at the party. Please DJ's bring back the love.
Why: This was a post that could easily have turned preachy, but instead stayed poetic throughout despite alternating between flashbacks and making a very important point that new isn't always better. Beautiful job.
