Neighborland: Historic Chicago - Michigan Avenue
School Zone: You Are Going to Hate What I Have to Say About Sports
Third place: Neighborland: Historic Chicago - Michigan Avenue
Why: Liz tells her story though photos and accompanying captions, taking the reader on a tour of several buildings in one of Chicago's busiest areas. The visuals are all things many of us who work downtown see on a daily basis but Liz brings her unique point of view and knowledge of downtown to make it a really interesting post.
Second place:High Gloss and Sauce: Father's Day in an estranged family
Why: Excellent headline followed by a typically honest High Gloss and Sauce post that easily moves from sentiment to the reality of a tough situation. Jenna offers her advice on how to deal with a difficult parent, but then makes sense when she explains why she went against her own advice.
First place: Chicago Tough: Husband Warms Up in Bullpen While Wife Finishes Fifty Shades of Grey
Why: I'm not going to over analyze a hysterical -- and clearly satirical -- post that pokes fun at the women caught up in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" craze and the men who have been relegated to the "bullpen." All of John's "fake news" posts are funny, this one just happened to be his best.
