The saying "everything is bigger in Texas" has proved itself true once again. While the size of these turtles' heads may not be unusually large, they are large in number - there are two heads on these turtles, and these two turtles share the same body. (Key fact: we define how many animals are living off of a body based on how many brains it / they has / have).
The more concise version of what is written above: this turtle has two heads, and scientists have actually decided that this one turtle is indeed made up of two thinking beings.
These pretty turtle girl heads have been named Thelma and Louise, after the award-winning characters who starred in the award-winning movie that shared their names.
The names are quite fitting, if you asked me!

Isn't that something?!
Thanks, Texas, for yet again showcasing the wonders of mother nature! (This same Zoo, the San Antonio Zoo, had a two-headed snake living there until its natural death.)
