You think you've seen some great animals, Chicagoans, but what do we really see around here? A deer here, a deer there, occasionally a raccoon eating your garbage, but nothing really interesting. If you lived in Indonesia, my friends, you would have the chance to see a species recently photographed - the Draco Volans, which means Flying Dragon.
This lizard is the size of a normal gecko, but has wings that look like a dragon's. Technically, this tiny dragon cannot fly, but it is a type of gliding lizard, so it can coast through the air with ease.
Cool fact: the white lines running down the wings that look like veins are actually ribs! I guess his tiny wings aren't as fragile as they look!
