Welcome to "God Sends Me Hearts!" This blog originated because of a game I play with God, and is meant to influence readers to explore the depths of God's love in their own lives.
Over the past few years, I have seen hearts in random places. Some are simple, while others are quite miraculous. Seeing hearts encourages my heart greatly and is a way, I believe, that God reveals his love to me and reminds me He is with me. I see hearts in various forms from food to nature with them appearing in a lot of random places. These hearts have just happened to show up at the most opportune times and when I need God's reminder the most that I am loved and safe.
Some time, during the summer in 2013, there was an amazing sermon at the St. Louis region of my church on Jesus' redeeming love. I saw a cross for the first time.
Over the years, my game with God has expanded from hearts to crosses as well. For someone who is quite a perfectionist, worries at times and can be a little too hard on myself, seeing crosses is a reminder that I am redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. Because of Jesus' love and death on the cross, God sees me "as if I never sinned." It is good to be reminded that although I shouldn't continue in my sin, that sin does not reign over me any longer. (Romans 6:1-4, Romans 8:1-3)
A little bit about me:
I have a B.A. in Nonfiction Creative Writing from the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2012, I graduated with my MSJ from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
and fitness related also. I come from a personal training background, and have personally benefited from alternative/integrative medicine in my own life. I am also a self-proclaimed foodie. I love to cook, try new foods at restaurants and write about anything food related.
I am a survivor. Shortly after starting this blog, on November 9, 2014 my life changed forever. I was hit head-
on by a drunk driver traveling the wrong way on the expressway. Needless to say, I almost died a few times. If you are interested in this particular story, please read my blog series: "The Prayer That Changed Everything: How I Survived a Drunk Driver and the Story I Couldn't Tell Until Now." Currently, I have two blog posts up, but many more on the way.
I am excited to share my stories as well as the stories of others and how God personally meets us where we are, and reveals the depth of his love through life's ups and downs.
