One Rescue Dog Down, Many More to Go: Finding a Forever Home

After waiting about 15 years for my perfect doggie, I found my precious Gizzy.  I am reminded of this scripture and what a blessing it is to have Gizmo in my life.

Proverbs 12:10
"A righteous man regards the life of his animal."

Proverbs 13:12:
Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life."

I just wanted to share some amazing pictures of Gizzy's story.  Gizzy is a rescue dog who was found in a forest preserve.  No one knows if he family lost him or left him.  But as a three-year old doggie, he is one of the most loving dogs I have ever met.

Reminds me of how God wants us to live. He wants us to live our lives as if the glass is always half-full, even when it's easy to see the glass as half-empty.

I've wanted a dog for so many years, but after finding Gizmo I really believe he is the dog I was meant to have.  And God hardened my mother's heart until the perfect time. Within a week of my mother agreeing to allow my dad and I to get a dog, I found Gizzy, all because I inquired about another lovely dog by the name of Leo.  Check this little guy out here if you are interested in adopting a rescue doggie.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.  God may not answer our prayers when he wants us to but he has the perfect plan. We just need to wait on his timing.

Isaiah 30:18:
Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!"
