A Lesson Learned And A Decision To Move Forward

I recently posted a blog that was somewhat controversial. I’m not going to discuss the blog or the topic because I have done that enough and need to move on and turn the page from it. Even though when I wrote and posted it my intentions were good, it brought out a lot of shares, emotions, and a lot of comments. Unfortunately, most of these comments were not in agreement with me and in fact, took a turn into personal attacks on me, my integrity, and wishing pain and harm on me.

If I would have known the amount of people that were going to read and respond to it, I seriously doubt I would have written it. Quite honestly, I don’t have thick skin and when people say mean things to me, it truly does hurt. I guess I never saw that kind of response coming.

So where do I go from here? I was originally thinking about giving up writing completely. The thought of going through this past experience again is not something I care to participate in. Then I remembered why I started writing to begin with. I wanted to share my experiences with God and what was going on with my relationship with Him and our relationship. Hence the title, “God Is My Running Partner"

Somewhere along the “blog road” I took it upon myself to write about other topics that don’t really pertain to me, or my walk with Christ. If I wanted to vent about something, then I might verbally vomit it into my blog. That might work for other bloggers but that is not the way God wired me nor am I able to do it without stress.

So, I am going back to my original intent of writing. I am going to share about my life, family, marathons, cancer and other illnesses, being a husband and father, my church, and most importantly my relationship with God and what He is doing in my life. There might be some funny or interesting stories along the way about a host of other things too.

What you aren’t going to see here are things that get our blood boiling. The world, and the internet, are hard enough places without me adding more stress to them.

I am excited to get back to writing about the things I am passionate about. I hope you stick around and keep reading. I am looking forward to seeing where God is taking me next. It would be great if you were along for the ride.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength!
