A Cancer Organization You Can Be Friends With

I have been in the cancer community for a long time and have come across a lot of different cancer organizations. Some of these are really good cancer groups and some of them are not so good. A few years ago, I happen to come across a really good one and it is a real blessing to be a part of it.

Amy first pointed “Phil’s Friends” out to me when she was at a Casting Crowns concert I believe. Phil was there with a table explaining this relatively new ministry he was starting. Amy thought I would be interested in it so she gave me his contact information. Shortly thereafter I got in touch with Phil Zielke, the founder of Phil’s Friends, and set up a time to meet him.

Turns out we both have a strong cancer testimony, both love the Lord, both share the same life verse “Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength”, and both want to take our cancer experience and our being cancer free out into the world to spread the love of God and to give the hope of Jesus Christ to cancer patients and their families.

The more I became friends with Phil, literally, the more I wanted to be part of this mission that he is on. I am proud to be part of Phil’s Friends. They don’t set out to give false promises of curing cancer or sell things that aren’t going to impact someone. Their goals are simple.

They strive to provide support and comfort to those who are fighting cancer. One of the main ways they are able to bring this sense of ease into one’s life is by delivering God’s Word. There is much to be found when searching for ourselves through God.

The purpose of this charity is, “to bring hope”. People are diagnosed with cancer every day.  People with cancer often experience support needs. Many have no place to turn. We all need comfort, peace, and joy. Phil’s Friends is a faith-based charity that seeks to provide “the hope” we all need.

In addition to prayer, Phil's Friends reaches out to cancer patients by delivering care packages. Care packages are gender specific and are filled with spiritually encouraging and physically comforting gifts. Phil's Friends can mail or deliver the care package, or friends or relatives of the cancer patient can deliver it.

If you know someone going through cancer, please click here to send them a free care package from Phil's Friends. This will also get them cards regularly, and a host of other great things Phil's Friends offers.

Phil’s Friend is having their annual fundraising dinner on Friday November 22. Amy and I are hosting a table. Please consider joining us and helping out this great cancer organization.

We would love to see you at the dinner. We may not cure cancer that night but we sure will make a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families.
