Go 2 Baby Scores Time Out Chicago Kids Magazine Feature

Sooo I've been a stranger to blogging for the last 6 weeks or so. Life has been flying by so quickly that I barely have time to keep up with the days of the week. I'm writing today with a little new motivation.

A few weeks ago Go-2-Baby was selected for a photo shoot for a local magazine. I was very excited and waited until the issue was released to mention the name of the publication. Needless to say, I was and am very excited. The photo shoot was quick and easy and Go-2-baby seemed to enjoy the attention. I've been going back and forth with myself deciding whether or not I'd like to pursue some sort of modeling career for her at her age. She's only 14 months old and very photogenic. She seems to enjoy posing for the cameras already. She's pretty much a natural based on the results of the shoot.

I always wanted to do modeling and acting as a child, but I don't want to try and live those dreams through her. This opportunity pretty much fell in my lap based on a friend of mine tagging me in a Facebook post on the magazine fan page. Nearly a month later, I received an email saying that they were interested in my baby for a shoot.

The Feb/March 2013 issue of Time Out Chicago Kids has my little lady featured in a story titled "First Steps," the online version used her photo as well in a Classes for New Walkers feature.

I've always been familiar with Time Out Chicago and its affiliate versions in other states. Naturally given my line of work there is rarely any media outlets I haven't heard of. I wasn't as familiar with the Kids versions of the magazine before now though. I will be subscribing from now on because they are a great resource for things to do and places to go in Chicago with kids. In fact, they will be one of my resources for blog posts... I promise to start writing them soon... this post was written mainly for celebratory purposes however I'd like to pose a question. What are your thoughts on children and the modeling industry? I asked this question once before. Some feel that it's a form of exploitation, but what if the child seems to enjoy the attention and isn't harmed in any way. I'm not one of those competitive "Toddlers and Tiaras" type parents. I've always been very photogenic and my child appears to be the same way... keep your eyes out for my little lady. She may be doing some more print work in the near future and maybe even commercials some day... I'm cool on the pageant stuff, I don't have the time nor energy for that world. Plus, I wouldn't dare put my child through that type of competition.

Hopefully I will write again soon with tips, review or vital information on something relevant to my fellow parents out there. Til then, please read and comment, I love to hear from my readers!!!
