What do you get when you mix classic zombie films and a drive-in double feature? WBEZ's Off-Air Series gives you a chance to find out next Thursday, May 17.
The Cascade Drive-In, one of the few left in the Chicagoland area, will host the Drive-In Double Feature! Zombie Apocalypse. Two classic zombie films -- the American “zom-com” Zombieland immediately followed by Britain’s zombie genre parody Shaun of the Dead-- will bring out the zombies in everyone.
Tickets are priced per vehicle and are $15 general admission, $12 WBEZ members. You can purchase them at www.wbez.org/events. The first 100 cars through the gate will receive a ghoulish giveaway.
Cascade Drive-In, 1100 E. North Avenue in West Chicago, is one of the largest remaining drive-in theaters in Illinois. Window speakers or a car FM radio provide sound the way it was meant to be heard in a drive-in theater.
This is an event for anyone who likes drive-ins, horror films, zombies or just wants to try something new. The price is right and it's sure to be an entertaining evening. You only have one week before the big night, so start planning your zombie attire now.
