The Ultimate Holiday Fitness Gift Guide | Day 15 | GetFit Scale

Need help finding a healthy gift for the holidays? From November 12th through December 12th, I will be featuring great fitness-related gift ideas- stocking stuffers and beyond! I've searched long and hard for gifts that fit the bill for people who like to exercise and appreciate fitness!

Day 15 | Precision GetFit Digital Body Fat Scale

Let me start by saying I am NOT a proponent of scale overuse...not in the least bit. I've had many-a-client who have made a habit of jumping on scales one to two times a day to see how many ounces they've gained or lost. That said, I DO think it's important to know roughly how much you weigh, and more importantly, what your body fat is. Getting weighed once a month, or even every few weeks is a good way to know where your body is at - especially over the holidays! There are a lot of heavy-fit and skinny-fat people out there. Too much fat is no good. Having a simple tool to help you measure body fat, and weight to boot, is a bonus. That's where the Precision GetFit Digital Body Fat Scale comes in.

Ideal Gift Candidate?

Anyone who wants to pay attention to not just how much they weigh,  but also know what their body fat is for goal-setting purposes.

What is it?
It's a digital scale that uses a bio-electrical impedence technology to measure your body fat (as well as weight, muscle mass, and approximate percentage of body water).

Why it made the list?

  • I used to use this type of technology with my clients to establish baselines when I first started training them, then every month thereafter.  Bio-electrical impedance is *fairly* accurate, give or take 3 percentage (about the same accuracy as using body fat calipers).
  • The scale is programmable for up to eight people, and will automatically recognize you by your weight.
  • Unlike traditional scales, GetFit allows you to measure progress, something very important to achieving goals!

How much is it?
About $55

Where can I get it?
Online at, or other online retailers
