Still looking for a job? Need some help with your resume and job search? Don't miss the Women For Hire job seminar on Thursday, October 6,10am-2pm, at Navy Pier in the Lakeview Room.
This FREE event is one of the best in the City. It is well organized and worth the time to attend. I spoke at this event in April and was impressed with the quality of speakers, companies in attendance at the job fair and the large number of volunteer human resource professionals available to help job candidates with their job search.
Included in this four hour free event are power seminars designed to offer tips on acing a job in a challenging job market, mentor matches that offer candid advice and HR professionals to help you develop your "perfect pitch". There are also career professionals on hand to aide you with your resume that will offer you instant feedback and help you with your interview skills.
Keynote speakers include Lauren Mulligan who will be offering advice on improving your resume. Jodi Glickman will be discussing how to perfect your perfect pitch. Tory Johnson, the founder of this exciting event will also be conducting an early morning seminar for $10 which will be from8:30am-10:00am. Reservations must be made in advance.
The job fair is also worth attending. Some companies in attendance Include: Amtrack, Essential Bodywear, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Internal Revenue Service, Navistar, New York Life, Prudential, Service Experts, TCF Bank, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Secret Service and Walgreens.
Please remember to dress in business attire and to bring your resume. Both are required for admittance. You can register on-site, but will need to pre-register for Tory's early morning session.
