This GEEKend: UChi-Con 2013, a FREE Anime Convention

Once Upon a Time, eleven years ago, the University of Chicago Japanese Animation Society threw a party.  It was apparently a glorified viewing party with snacks.  Er, wee~!  Now, UChi-Con is a full-day event with multiple programming rooms, guests, contests, cafes, and more.   ...Did I mention it's this Saturday?  I can't wait!  Check out the full UChi-Con schedule HERE.

I will be there with Geek Girl Jess to photograph cosplayers.  IPlayGames, local friend of GGC, is sponsoring the game room.  If we arrive on-time (and you never know with cosplay), we'll be able to check out both major speakers- one on childhood/adolescence in anime, the other on cosplay.  The screening rooms look diverse, too.  Mmmm, bacon rice balls...

I hope to see some GGC readers at UChi-Con.  If you're attending, post below and let me know how to find you!  Oh, and please consider donating to the food drive.  It's a free convention, so it's completely reasonable to spend a few bucks on cans and non-perishables for the Chicago Food Depository.

UChi-Con Mascot... I think.
