God, we ask that you give comfort to the Hudson and King families. Lord we ask that your spirit enter their hearts and that they may successfully get through this trial with grace and dignity. We pray for justice to be served in the murder cases involving the family members of Jennifer Hudson, Julia Hudson, and Greg King.
Having to hear and see the sensitive and sometimes gruesome details in court is not what one wants to revisit.
I've been there.
Jennifer Hudson's relatives were found dead on October 24th and 27th, 2008. My parents bodies were found on October 21, 2009. Nearly one year apart, I felt the pain of the Hudson family. Anguish, mystery, anger, disgust, disbelief, numbness, and the incessant question, "Why?" continuously play in your head like an annoying sample, a flat note, a harsh siren.
Having to look at your deceased relatives on a flat screen at the Cook County examiner's office is not pleasant in the least. It is a perilous and paralyzing moment that you'll never forget. It's a moment that makes you want to end all violence and unhappiness in the world. It makes you wonder how people can become cruel enough to kill someone over anything outside of self-defense. It angers you to the core. Killing someone over money, merchandise, or a jealous rage is not acceptable in a free society.
"Prosecutors said William Balfour went inside the three-story house around 9 a.m. and shot Hudson's mother, 57-year-old Darnell Donerson, in the living room, then shot her 29-year-old brother, Jason Hudson, twice in the head as he lay in bed. Investigators allege he then drove off in Jason Hudson's sport utility vehicle with 7-year-old Julian inside, and later shot the boy in the head as he lay behind a front seat." My parents, Milton (78) and Ruby McClendon (76), were bound, gagged, beaten, kidnapped, and shot dead in a forest preserve, for $70 and jewelry. The perpetrators were Reo Thompson and Gregory Brooks, Jr. - two teenagers who decided to voluntarily catch a case, commit a crime, and and succumb to 120-year sentences. Nevertheless, we forgive to act as examples of a true and living God.
Let's extend our support by treating the families with dignity and respect. We ask that the trial be an expedient one that doesn't put any undue stress on the Hudson, King, and Balfour families. We ask for your divine healing in this matter. Lord we also ask that you bless the voice, the disposition, ethic of care, and essence of your gifted and talented creation, Jennifer Hudson. We are looking at her as an important role model and we ask that you send the spirit of tranquility and flow in her responses. She is an amazing artist and we appreciate her eloquence and maturity in her family's tragedy. Thank you Lord; in Jesus name we pray. Amen.
