Buying for the Mom's in your life can become difficult. Mom's have everything they need and do not want you to spend a lot of money on them. They want you to show up and spend time with them and perhaps repair the roof while you are there. Spending less money and having a Christmas holiday season that does not put your family into extreme debt would make your Mom proud. How do you get your Mom a gift when you have no money? Try the ZERO DOLLAR Experiment.
This experiment is all about using creative ideas to spend ABSOLUTELY NO MONEY for the holidays. Every year millions of people put themselves in credit debt by thousands of dollars simply so their families can have the latest and greatest gadgets. I am not against spending money - I am against spending money YOU DO NOT HAVE.
Without a doubt, your Mom would agree with me. Do not spend money you do not have on them for the holidays, instead try spending ZERO DOLLARS, but give them something filled with love. It has been working for me. Below you see the gifts I was able to obtain for my respective Mother and Mother-In-Law -
MOTHER GIFTS
Mom – My Mom loves candles and scent-filled things, so her gifts are centered around her interest in this. I found her a candle warmer with cinnamon scent, a candle holder with palm trees on it (she loves palm trees), and a night light that is based on a country scene. (Photo below.) Estimated value – $25.00.
Mom-In-Law – Birdwatcher and gardener extraordinaire, my mother-in-law's gifts are all centered on her love for nature. I found her a Smith & Hawken hand trowel, a Blu Bandee garden hat that has a gel lining you can wet on hot days, and a book on North American backyard birds. (Photo above.) Estimated value – $35.00.
TOTAL ESTIMATED VALUE FOR MY MOM GIFTS – $60.00
THE ZERO DOLLAR EXPERIMENT - HOW I DID IT --
All the gifts I am giving have been discovered on Freecycle.org, Craigslist.or, or have been given to me over the course of the last year for free. Everything was given to me at absolutely no cost, yet are great gifts that I am proud to give to others. Below are links to the previous gift lists and rules post -
