Sea Turtle Snorkel and Turtles Lay Eggs in Akumal, Mexico - an Eco-Hula Eco-Adventure - 4

Come with our team on a video adventure as we watch sea turtles lay eggs at night and snorkel with sea turtles in their native environment during the day.

We visit Paul Sanchez Navarro from Centro Ecologico Akumal. Paul teaches us how to approach and enjoy viewing sea turtles in a safe way. We do this adventure on the beaches and in the waters along the Riviera Mayan coastline of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.

Our challenge this time was being fortunate enough to find a night where turtles were laying their eggs. We were not allowed to use lights to film the process at night because it would disturb the turtles, so we filmed with infrared light settings.

The Eco-Hula video series is all about real people exploring our environment, and this time we women got an amazing up close view of loggerhead sea turtles. What an adventure!

*Note – Because the FTC requires it, I am noting that the Mayan Riviera Tourism group sponsored this trip. I was not told what to document or how to document the experience, we were simply asked to attend and film – anything expressed in posts related to the activities is my own opinion expressed from my own personal experience.
