One Seed Chicago's seed voting selections for 2011: Swiss Chard, Eggplant, and Radish.

One Seed Chicago is
an amazing urban greening project which encourages everyday Chicagoans to get
started gardening. By planting your own locally grown food, for instance, you can grow your own food and feed your family for cheap. Participants vote on their
favorite seed then receive the winning seed selection in the mail for
FREE!!!

Every year GreenNet-Chicago in conjunction with One Seed Chicago selects
three candidate plants. Potential Chicago region gardeners vote during the
winter season to select one plant everyone can grow from seed at the same time.
The goal of One Seed Chicago, a not-for-profit project of NeighborSpace (Chicago's land
trust for community gardens), is to engage current gardeners and nurture new
gardeners to green Chicago and the surrounding suburbs by growing gardens.

The three candidates this year are radish,
eggplant
and Swiss
chard
and voting has already begun. Go here and put your nomination in - VOTE - and get your free seeds shortly. April 1st, 2011 will
be the last day of voting and soon after you receive their free seed packet in
the mail, a voter in Chicago will be randomly selected to win a TB57
Lithium Ion Battery Cordless String Trimmer / Weed Trimmer
provided by Troy-Bilt.
