Quick Trip to St. Vinnie's Nearly New Shop

stvinniesshoes.jpg

Shoes, glorious shoes.....I noticed the shoes right away at St. Vinnie's little thrift off the main resource center on Halsted. They were in good shape, and cheap. If you wear used, this might be a good stop-in-often source for barely worn shoes and clothing that's donated from the professional neighborhood.

The shop is small and tidy--no musty smell.  Some of the prices are low for what you might find there, such as shoes for $2, infant clothing for 50 cents and maybe a this year's BCBG sweater for $4.

The one room shop is arranged with racks of clothing taking up most of the space, but there's also room for the usual departments----books, housewares, kids' toys, accessories.  At the front counter on the day I stopped in last month was a big collection of reader glasses - not sure but I think they were new - for $10.  In the counter's case was a nice selection of jewelry and crosses.

Here's a look at what I found at St. Vincent De Paul Nearly New Shop, 2145 N. Halsted, Chicago IL 60614.  (312) 943-6776.
