The Free Store is Back

Think of this store like one of the Take a Penny, Leave a Penny trays you see at the 7-11 checkout counter.  It bypasses the cash register completely, so if you see something you like, take it.  If you want to bring something to donate, do that, too.

The Free Store
opens at Gallery 400 on UIC's campus.  It's a pop up store where
everything is absolutely free to take. It happens on an irregular basis
(usually every few months or so) and travels to a variety of publicly
accessible spots around Chicagoland. You can take as little or as much
as you want. You can give as little or as much as you want.  To start,
according to the website, the store has furniture, clothes, shoes,
books, and music to give away

If you have items that you would like to give to the store, you're
welcome to bring them to Gallery 400. Got a truckload? Get in touch
with the store to arrange a pickup.

Also, if you a service to offer, like chair massage, performances, and free
advice, these are good to give away, too. Contact the sale if you
would like to participate in this way.
