Sale Preview: The Inside Scoop on a Mid Century Modern Store Sale

Call this The Hardware Store That Time Forgot.
The era is Mid century Mod, vintage
signs, displays, metal advertising signs, glassware, furniture, good junk, over 1000 records, about 12 mint condition display cases, and of course tools.

The sale takes place in the main floor and basement of a hardware/resale store that's been closed for years.  The interior with super high ceilings and
lovely oak hardwood floors was rehabbed not long ago, but the merchandise has been untouched.

Sale organizer Lynne McDaniel puts it in terms of stuff. "Just lots of
stuff. Hard to gage. So much stuff.
The stuff in the basement is just as great as
upstairs.
" Lynne guesses that the owner wanted to open a store and it just never happened. Now the building is in foreclosure and everything must go.

Selling along side the Mid Century Mod items are new Kenmore washers and dishwashers, never removed from their boxes, that are being stored in the building.

Where: 1925 S. Racine, Pilsen neighborhood
When: 9am to 3pm on Friday and Saturday, January 15 and 16
