I stopped by the yard sale at 404 Gregory in Wilmette and yesterday and met the principals---two old friends who like to shop and collect. When they find themselves over collected, they have an annual sale that shows their sense of humor.
The sale was set up in the yard with several tables of items, and the sellers mentioned two more families would be joining in the sale on Saturday.
The sale is on today, Saturday 11/7, from 8 to 3 at 404 Gregory in Wilmette. This is near the Linden El stop off the Purple line and a few blocks from the NU football stadium.
Seller Doris pointed out a whimsical relic from her cat collecting phase. That came just before her chicken phase and right after cow phase, she said. Briefly in there someplace was her dinosaur phase, when she grew interested in science.

Bag with hand painted needlepoint canvases and wool floss.
There was one item I wish I'd purchased, a round jigsaw puzzle picturing a golf course. Maybe I can run back, but first am going to the St. Mark's church sale--it's close to me in Evanston.
