Picked up a copy of CS Interiors at the train station last night and got an immediate mixed message. It's a free magazine, but the content looked oh so exclusive. Posed lofts, style insiders---hate that phrase---sharp edged chic that's the opposite of what we do here on Garage Sale Warrior. That's something I've come to call participatory design.
Finding a seat on the train, I opened the glossy cover and started reading about one studio owner's obsession with eBay. A few pages on, in another spread I saw a yard sale type chair and began to think, not so bad. There's some envy to copy here. In the Fall issue, there's also a short piece on The Time Traveler's Wife author's love of taxidermy.
But please, CS Interiors, does everything need to be so highbrow exquisite: the sleek Tony Stewart sofa set off by the Z&Z watercolor which rests on the Chase Utley slate mantel? Maybe less perfect lifestyle, more creative? I'm one of those who notice the hole Domino left. I'm also not getting the CS Interiors definition of Modern Luxury. And no more mixed message, please.
