Still debating -- Spiderman vs a fairy princess? Home made vs store bought? If Target's not your scene for Halloween costumes, here's my short list of alternate sources. Fright night is still a weekend away, plenty of time to put together a killer look.
Garage and Yard Sales
Do a search on the Warrior map and Craigslist to see what comes up in
your area. Use "Halloween costumes" as your keywords. "Halloween"
will give results for decorations, good if you're still planning to
deck the haunted halls.
Thrift Stores
Tons of possibilities here for kids and adults. In the children's section, if your search doesn't yield a readymade costume, you can put together an alias from the racks of clothing and props from the toy section. Adults, ditto. Lots of dress-up possibilities--and designers, remember to use the Unique accessories wall thoughtfully.
Resale Shops
Ragstock, Buffalo Exchange, vintage clothing stores---these, too have lots of possibilities. Do a search for "Used Halloween Costumes" on Yelp.com. Reader input will tell you what's in your neighborhood and if it's worth going to for a Halloween party look.
The Classifieds
Desparately seeking Darth Vadar? Check the classifieds of your local newspaper and Craigslist. My search on Craigslist put me in touch with costumes for everybody and the dog.
Got a good idea for a costume source? Do tell by leaving a comment!
