FutureSox has published our 2010 Post-Season Top Prospects list! We publish the list three times a year – early April just as the minor league season begins, July after the draft picture gets solidified and the minor leaguers have part of a season under their belts, and then in the fall after the minor league... Gregory Infante among first September call-ups

In a bit of a surprise, reliever Gregory Infante was called up to the White Sox today with the roster limit expanding to 40. Infante wasn’t even on the 40-man roster, but has a high 90s fastball and apparently the Sox like his arm a lot. Fellow reliever Clevelan Santeliz was designated for assignment to... Read more »

Possible September call-ups

The big news for the Chicago White Sox right now is that they claimed Manny Ramirez off of waivers. It’s hard to add a better piece than Ramirez this late in the season, but what will the September roster expansion give the White Sox for the regular season’s last month? The 40-man roster is full... Hot and Cold 6/24-6/30

It's not often that a short relief pitcher manages to give up 7 ER in one appearance, but Clevelan Santeliz managed just that this week. In three appearances (3.1 IP) he gave up 7 ER (18.90 ERA), allowing 3 walks, 7 hits (3.00 WHIP) and stuck out 0. After a great 2009 season Santeliz is laboring here in 2010 with a 6.00 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 20 BB/21 SO. Nobody questions Santeliz' arm, he gets good velocity and has a wicked slider, but the command and polish isn't there right now. Honorable mentions: Andre Rienzo (1.2 IP, 43.20 ERA, 1 BB/1 SO), Johnnie Lowe (0.2 IP, 94.50 ERA, 2 BB/1 SO) and Stephen Sauer (3.1 IP, 21.60 ERA, 3 BB/2 SO).
The first full week of rookie league action brings with it a whole host of new talent to consider for the Hot and Cold list. Unfortunately one recent draftee makes the list as the week’s cold hitter.

Top 25 Review: 20-16

Santeliz needed to improve his control to have any hope of duplicating his sub 1 ERA from last year. So far with Charlotte he has walked 20 in 27 innings. That's not going to do it. Until he can throw more strikes, Santeliz's stuff won't be good enough to earn him a spot in the Majors. (Photo credit: The Birmingham News)
In the second installment of my top 25 review, I take a look at five right-handed pitchers that are all over the place in terms of results including one who appears Major League ready and another who is falling off the prospect radar.
