Doyle Headlines AFL Performances

The Arizona Fall League finished up recently and for the most part it was a forgettable season from a White Sox standpoint. This year didn’t feature the emergence of Sergio Santos as in 2009 or the comeback of Jared Mitchell like last year, but there was one player who surprised just about everyone. Terry Doyle,... Hot and Cold 6/18-6/26

With three affiliates on all-star break and rookie ball just starting earlier this week, this Hot and Cold was pushed back a few days to allow for a bigger sample size. Now that there are six affiliates in action, it has become tougher at the top. Several players pounded the ball this week, but it’s... Read more »

Dash, Intimidators have rosters full of All-Stars

Brandon Kloess has been a knockout reliever for the Intimidators this year posting a 1.16 ERA with 39 SO/6 BB in 31 innings out of the Kannapolis bullpen. Kloess is an older guy (25), so it's tough to know what to make of him as a prospect, but the numbers are certainly impressive.
With a 40-23 record it’s unsurprising to hear that the Winston-Salem Dash have several players named to the Carolina League All-Star team, but the Kannapolis Intimidators’ 30-33 record is rather less impressive, yet they have several All-Stars of their own.

FutureSox Prospects of the Month: May 2010

Brandon Kloess (15.2 IP, 0 R, 23 K, 3 BB, 8 H) actually finished second in our voting, but I just HAD to use this photo of Kyle Bellamy (19.2 IP, 1.37 ERA, 22 K, 2 BB, 14 H). Kloess was a NDFA that the Sox signed out of indy ball. The 25 year-old is not much of a prospect at this point, but his 37:5 strikeout to walk ratio and sub one ERA on the year is getting it done in A-ball. Dan Hudson also rebounded with a strong month: 37 IP, 2.43 ERA, 44 K, 8 BB, 29 H.
The White Sox minor league system is having a rough season. The first three picks from the 2009 draft are injured and will miss a significant amount of time. However, there are still some bright spots. Let’s take a look at the best of May.
