Scouting report
Snodgress, like many other early round pitchers drafted by the White Sox, he has a big frame. What makes him a bit different from the typical mold the Sox draft from is that his secondary pitches are decently far along. His fastball was inconsistent in college (going between mid 90s and low 90s) and so was his production. The left-hander was a reliever at Stanford and struck out more than a batter per inning over his last two seasons there but struggled with his control. In his pro debut with Great Falls in 2011, the control was much improved (17 BB in 59.1 IP) and the strikeouts remained (68). The fastball was better and his solid curve and workable change gave him success as a starter. Most still think he profiles as a reliever, but the early returns as a starter were encouraging.
