Scouting report

Webb was taken in the 18th round by Toronto in 2010, but they signed him for well above slot ($450,000) out of Northwest Florida State College. In two years in the Blue Jays' system, Webb struggled as a starter. After the White Sox acquired him before the 2012 season they had him repeat Low-A and the results weren't much better, but after four early season starts he moved to the bullpen. He showed signs of improvement and had a breakout year in 2013. At 23, Webb dominated the Carolina League, with 19 strikeouts and only five walks in 15 innings. He didn't allow an earned run and was promoted to AA Birmingham. After similar numbers in AA (21 K, 5 BB, 4 ER in 20.1 IP) he was again promoted. Webb's rush through the system quickly put him into the near future plans for the Sox. His fastball usually sits between 95-97 mph, tops out at 100 and has some late run. His slider and change up are also above average pitches. If he can get a little more out of his secondary pitches he has the ability to be a big league closer.
