Scouting report
Remenowsky went undrafted and was signed out of an independent league in 2008, followed by short but successful stint in rookie Great Falls. Dan truly jumped onto the prospect radar in 2009 with a dominant performance as the closer for Low-A Kannapolis, where he compiled a 1.99 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, a scant 2.27 BB/9 and a whopping 15.49 K/9. The big right-hander came into the organization with excellent control and multiple solid breaking pitches, but a fastball that barely scraped 90, making his strikeout numbers all the more surprising. He is also helped by a slightly deceptive motion and his knowledge of pitching and the game make him a quick study. After his breakout performance the Sox are said to have put him on a conditioning program to help improve flexibility and strength with the hope of adding a few clicks to the fastball. In 2011 Remenowsky passed the AA hump with flying colors, earning a midseason promotion to AAA. His peripherals have held steady, largely alleviating concerns about his relatively advanced age/level and NDFA pedigree.
