Five affiliates took the field Friday night with Charlotte getting rained out. Tim Anderson stayed hot for Winston-Salem while Courtney Hawkins had a hat trick. Trayce Thompson also hit his sixth homer of the season for Birmingham.

Seventh round pick Jake Peter has been a revelation early on in his pro career. Not many thought especially highly of him, but he is probably the highest performing of the new draft picks. Peter is 11-29 (.379) with five walks so far this season, although he only has one extra base hit.

Dodgers 8, Arizona White Sox 5

Adam Engel 3-5, 2B, 3B, HR, 2 K
Eddy Alvarez 2-4, 2 K
Nick Basto 3-4, 2B, HR, K
Victor Done 2.2 IP, 4 R, 6 K, 5 BB, 2 H

Star of the day: Chris Freudenberg

Last year's eighth round pick turned 21 just nine days ago and is having a solid start to his second pro season. With Bristol in 2013, Freudenberg had a 5.40 ERA with 27 K and 10 BB in 28.1 IP. After Friday's start he dropped his ERA to 1.84 in three starts. With the Voyagers he had 12 K and 4 BB in 14.2 IP.
