About a month ago I saw an ad in one of my magazine subscriptions for kale chips. I was intrigued by these, but not enough to go to the website and order them (kale and I don't always get along well). When shopping at Whole Foods last week I saw that they carried kale chips from Kaia Foods. So, since they were right there I decided to pick two bags up. I got the sea salt & vinegar kind.
While on a road trip this past weekend my friend and I decided to crack open a bag and give them a go. I will say that when you break the seal you smell that vinegar... these are some strong chips! I was also taken aback because they really looked like stuff that I used to feed my pet rabbits when I was a kid (these are not in chip form like so many other "veggie" chips on the market). This is honest to goodness dried and seasoned kale!
I was surprised at how delicious these "chips" are! I could've eaten the whole bag right there (but I refrained since they are 200 calories per serving despite the goodness in them). My friend liked them as well! Some of you may wonder why a serving is 200 calories... that's because there are sunflower and sesame seeds in there, as well as apple cider vinegar. Seriously, though, if you are looking for a healthy snack that will give you some great foods for your health, as well as please your taste buds, you should give these a go!
