The Fire dropped to eighth place in the Eastern Conference following a 4-3 loss at home to the Philadelphia Union. Philadelphia's Cory Burke scored a brace with a first half stoppage time header and a tap in following a Richard Sanchez clearance while Haris Medunjanin converted a giveaway but the most incredible moment of the night came late in stoppage time as former Fire midfielder David Accam danced around Jorge Corrales and Tony Tchani to score his first goal of the season and give the Union the victory.
Accam scored a little over a minute after Bastian Schweinsteiger appeared to salvage a point with a stoppage time header.
Aleksandar Katai continued his excellent run of form with a goal of his own. Katai also was fouled in the penalty area, leading to a Nemanja Nikolic PK conversion.
