Fire drop points late in 1-1 draw with New England

The Fire took a 1-0 lead into the 82nd minute of a fairly evenly matched contest against an Eastern Conference playoff contender. An unfortunate bounce and a Richard Sanchez bobble led to Teal Bunbury's equalizer and dropped the Fire's home record to 3-4-2 on the season.

Bastian Schweinsteiger gave the Fire a lead with a 62nd blast from inside the penalty area but the match represents another lost opportunity at home.

The match was played with Section 8 and Sector Latino largely vacant. Most of Section 8 declined to enter the stadium as a show of solidarity with Sector Latino, who had been recently banned from attending the match due to conduct violations.

  • Honest question, why is this site still active? There is zero to none in depth coverage or breaking news or insights. Why even bother having this site still up?
