Fire notebook - USOC, MLSPU salaries

The draw for third and fourth round US Open Cup match-ups took place this morning. The Fire will face the winner of the June 1 third round game between USL's Louisville City FC and NASL's Indy Eleven.

Should Indy Eleven win that match they will face the Fire at Toyota Park on June 15. A meaningful contest against a Peter Wilt-affiliated team will certainly draw some interest.

Should Louisville City win, the Fire will travel to them on June 15.

MLSPU salary report

The player's union released the first of this year's MLS player salary reports. As always, the numbers can be used as a guideline for amateur capologists to pour over in hopes of decoding each team's budget structure but they're not always entirely reflective of any given player's actual compensation package or the budget hit for said player.

Michael de Leeuw is not yet listed but his salary is over the DP minimum and his budget hit was bought down with Targeted Allocation Money in the same fashion that Johan Kappelhof was.
