Pineda loaned to Indy Eleven

With the World Cup now in full swing and MLS teams on break, we thought this would be a week devoid of Fire news.

Not so fast.

First a new VP of Communications is introduced and Grant Ward's loan is extended but the Fire weren't done today. The club's first homegrown player, Victor Pineda has been loaned to NASL side Indy Eleven. Pineda has only made four first team appearances this season but should get a chance to play regularly with Peter Wilt's Indy side.

The Fire seem to be establishing a relationship with their former General Manager's new club. Chicago defeated Indy Eleven in a reserve match by a score of 3-1 back on April 1. The reserve league still doesn't provide enough minutes for players like Pineda so this should be a good opportunity for him considering there are several players ahead of him on the first team depth chart.

The Fire can recall Pineda at any time.
