MLS 2014 schedule announced - Fire open March 9 at Chivas USA

Will wonders never cease?

MLS has announced the complete 2014 season schedule and 2013 isn't even over yet. The fixture list features a two week break from June 12 through the 24th for the World Cup and a consistent Friday night time slot on NBC Sports network from June 27 through the final weekend of the season on October 24.

The Fire will open the campaign on March 9 at Chivas USA and will travel to Portland on the following weekend before their home opener at Toyota Park on March 23 against the New York Red Bulls. Chicago will feature four times on NBCSN and three times on ESPN/ESPN2. They'll also only have five midweek regular season games to contend with.

Here's the complete Fire schedule for 2014:

  • :o I cannot believe they released the schedule. Haven't there been years where they released it after the first game was played? Sure has felt that way.

10 Sunday games, 6 at home. I'm in the minority, I suspect, but this is great for my schedule.

  • In reply to Fuegofan:

I think you may be thinking of the TV schedule. The full schedule was released in January last season and many thought that was early. Good to see they're getting their act together on this.

I don't mind Sunday afternoon games but I'd prefer Saturday night over Sunday night for selfish reasons.

  • Sunday afternoon March, April, May, then Sept, Oct … Saturday night June, July, August …
Glad the schedule is out early ...
Any word on when to look for the uploads to calendar apps (i.e. iCal)??

  • In reply to tonymarturano:
  • well then … here's the link … all the Season Schedule stuff is on the Fire website this year … cool!

  • In reply to Guillermo Rivera:

excellent link as long as you can read dutch. i'll just take your word for it regarding what it says... :)

  • All we'll need is the USOC schedule to round things out...
