  • 2 things are clear at halftime, the ref is Seattle's eunuch and the left side (Fire's left) of the defense sucks. Otherwise a fairly decent game for the most part at least after the first 15 minutes.

  • yeah the is not to bad Iyhunk pick up tge pace dont sit bad to try keep the tie

  • How can this happen to us?!?!? Very undeserved results.

  • In reply to Arklow:

Ah well, at least we outscored them.

  • In reply to Arklow:

I think this will sum it up:
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Seems to sum up Klopas' game plan... Very formulaic. Score, hopefully first, bunker, sub in 65 min., bunker, sub in 72 min. BUNKER, absorb, bunker... You get the idea. You'd think you'd try something new by now.

  • Snakebitten. What a crap season.

  • Hey Segares finally scored.............oh um (sigh).

I'm not mad at Segares, he didn't see it. Baky was in the way. Anyway, it just goes to show, we don't have a good enough team to control a game. We can't impose a game, we can't win it. I give props to Nyarko for all his hard work, but he needs help. He is using too much energy that all his explosiveness is maybe gone in the last 10 minutes. He's putting in a complete shift.

Still, we can't disrupt their game, we can't impose our will, we can't pick out a pass, doesn't look like we have any game plan... what more can I say? It's hard to watch soccer games like this.

  • In reply to Kao Xiong:

Game plan... Of course we got a game plan... See comment above. :-)

  • If last weeks 90th minute equalizer wasn't enough to make you sick, how about a late own goal loss?

  • Baky is a numbskull and Segares is an enigma at times. Baffling game. In the end, I fell they got what they deserved. They cannot connect passes. You cannot pass, you cannot maintain possession under pressure. End of story. Maybe this will mean we will have new coaching staff. I hope this means they don't keep Matkovich around for transition purposes. Who cares if the guy developed the Magic into the best youth program. If he's on the bench for the first team, he needs to add value. These guys need to go back to the Magic.

  • Let's face it, the team as it is now doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs.

    In reply to lonecoyote:

Oh yeah. We have playoffs in MLS...

  • But we have a a new DP striker from South America, surely he will be a game changer when he gets here...

  • The sad thing is, I knew going in that this was going to end badly. Why did I feel the need to have it confirmed?!? Awful, awful, awful.

  • Guillermo--
Did we get any shots on goal in the second half? Kind of sad when our player of the second half was Nyarko and he was subbed in late.

  • They're not built for the fast track.

  • Bad only gets worse, after Soumare's ill-advised tweet to Crandall last night.

This season is like driving by a car crash.

  • In reply to Jeff Krause:

Any more info on that Tweet for those of us who missed it?!?

  • In reply to Jeff Krause:

    OK, nevermind.

I guess we won't be seeing a Baky bobblehead anytime soon. Sniping at the communications team is probably not the way to do that...

  • In reply to Modibo:

Obviously that was Dennis Hamlets fault also for picking on him

  • Actually not that bad an effort. I don't think the bunker was nearly as bad as v. Houston. So tough to stomach giving away 3 points in the last two games at the game's death knell.

We need a replacement for Baky. He is not a player for a playoff contending club.

  • In reply to Doug:

That tweet was best left untweeted but it's healthy to be angry after last night's result. I would be more upset if he didn't seem to care. We DO need to upgrade to someone who is less of an (mis?) adventure. Still we are better with him than we were without him earlier in the year.

He's become steadier and may even become reliable if we can bear sticking it out. Backy looked good covering up on a number of occasions last night. Unfortunately it's just the mistakes that I tend to remember.

I thought they played well most of the game last night. Even after the Sounders tied it just before the half I was feeling like it was going to be the Fire's night. I agree, the late goal was probably, as much as anything, a result of the bunkering down approach late. I wish they wouldn't do that as they don't really seem to need it and have paid dearly for it the past 2 weeks.

A very unlucky own goal. But you have to position yourself to avoid the risks of bad luck. If you are going to play the final minutes in front of one goal or the other, always choose to make it your opponent's goal where your bad luck only means you failed to score one for yourself and good luck is maximized in your favor!

  • Well I, for one, thought Baky's tweet was hilarious.

    In reply to DDT5583:

I agree. I can stick up for Baky, he's got heart. Defenders make mistakes, and get grilled for it, its fine. He will get better. He's strong, and big. We need that.

It's an own goal. You sometimes kick it in on accident. That's fine.

Whats not fine is not having any possession to see out games. We were under attack the whole 2nd half. One way traffic. Our coaching sucks.
