  • The REAL leaders of the Chicago Fire, The Team, put it up there tonight. It wasn't pretty but they played with heart and earned this one.

I'm liking Rios a LOT. Thought Rolfe, except for the BIG miss, had one of the best games I've seen from him in a long while. He was really all over the ball in the KC backfield. Magee starting to look more like his old self again. Didn't notice anyone having a poor game.

Yea, for once Baky didn't commit a dangerous foul or give up a goal. His best Fire outing yet ...

  • The offense has a way to go, but probably the best defensive effort for the season, seemingly the back line showed some sense of playing on the same page and played as a unit.
Although K.C. had several chances, but none that were absolutely threatening, of course the Fire misfired several times which should have been easy goals. Although K.C. had a margin in possession, I never thought they outplayed the Fire. Not a great game, but a decent and solid effort.

  • I was at the game,1st row!,Rios was killing it,he was winning a lot of 50/50s and getting a ton of loose balls.his energy really seemed to rub off on the rest of the team.if they play like that the rest of the year good things will happen.......

  • I keep looking at that shot from Anangono in the 72nd minute.. That was a very nice try and, difficult as it was, well placed. Juan Luis is starting to show he's a clear upgrade with the skills to put solid shots on goal.

I liked Hunter Jumper's play in that game earlier this year in which he played the full 70, in place of Segares who was serving a red card suspension if I remember correctly. He looked even better last night. Think he's a REAL option and has to be given strong consideration for regular starts.

  • In reply to Arklow:

Typo! I meant "the full 90"

That shot was more than a 'try', that was a goal without Nielsen getting his fingers on it.

And I say leave Hunter in the starting 11, he's playing with heart. Baky seems like more of a diva out there then before he left under Hamlett.

  • In reply to Jeff S:

Anangono's blast is a goal 99/100 times. I'm starting to believe he is the real deal, I think he needs more time with the team but i think he will prove to be a good signing. He has the build of an NFL linebacker, he shouldn't have a problem with the physical play and the guy looks like he plays with intensity. Rios looks great too, I'm interested in seeing him have more time playing with Nyarko. Jumper wants to play and plays hard, the kid definitely made a case for more playing time.

  • In the category of "Any publicity is good publicity", the Tribune ran their article about the game on Page 3 with a color photo, which is much better than usual. With the Bears playing last night no less.

Yesterday there were two articles about the Fire, with only one of them about Lobringate.

    Winning is a great deodorant.
