  • Trialist Maxwell Griffin is a forward for Orlando City in USL-Pro.

Borfor Carr is an attacking midfielder who plays for the Atlanta Silverbacks in the NASL.

They were previously known as trialists 3 and 4.

  • The Fire's starting 11 tonight will probably be the first choice starters on opening night...

    GK Johnson
    D Pause, Friedrich, Berry, Segares
    M Duka, Lindpere, Larentowicz, Nyarko
    F Rolfe, MacDonald

Subs: Belshaw, Kinney, Anibaba, Thompson, Bone, Paladini, Atouba, Amarikwa

  • Hey GR! How do you think Pause will be at RB? More of a stay-at-home obviously, I would assume. Seems like a real shift from last season. And wow, what a midfield mix-up from last year. Do you see this being pretty much a straight up 442? Looking forward to the new season!

  • In reply to RedLine55:

Pause will stay home more and probably won't provide as much as Anibaba would/has going forward. Not that Anibaba's been great overlapping or crossing from right back but I think he was getting better at it. Pause will be less prone to make a mistake back there though.

I can see more of a flat 4-4-2 with this line up.Lindperes not really a prototypical top of the diamond CAM but he's a solid box to box center mid. They've got guys who can play off the dribble like Nyarko, Duka, and Rolfe....just need to finish.

  • In reply to Guillermo Rivera:

Pause played right back earlier in his Fire career and was adequate at that spot. Given Anibaba's weaknesses, I don't think that the Fire are worse with Pause at right back.

I want to see more of Atouba. The kid has speed and shows a willingness and capability of taking people on.

  • In reply to StaryByk3:

They'll be okay with Pause at right back, he won't embarrass himself there....like you pointed out, he's played there before. The question is whether or not Anibaba is a better option at this point. It's debatable.

I think everyone would like to see more of Atouba.

  • They're really just trying to find a place for Pause on the field. They can do better at that position. Reminds me of when they stuck Banner out there.
