Anibaba, Berry.......Falcao

Here's a pretty cool video that is definitely worth a watch.  KickTV followed Jalil Anibaba and Austin Berry around in Spain during their training stints with Atletico Madrid.  The trip provided an opportunity for the young duo to go up against one of the top strikers in the world, Atletico's Radamel Falcao.

Have a good Christmas Holiday everyone!

  • You could really tell how much our two guys appreciated this opportunity. The look in their eyes told the whole story.

  • Happy Holidays, Fire Confidential friends. It's been a pleasure chatting Fire with you all over this last year. Here's to a joyous holiday season, and a fantastic 2013!

  • Very cool video. I was just in Madrid this year and I saw fat Spiderman in the Plaza Mayor too.

  • Fun video. What a great opportunity. Hopefully more US players will consider Spain. England and Germany get a lot of players and Spain is sadly neglected. I always thought that Beasley would do better there than England or Scotland. Razov is the only Fire player that I remember actually playing there for a bit (Racing de Ferrol).

GR-Thanks for a great year of reporting and congratulations on the addition to the family. I hope you enjoy being a father as much as I do (mine is almost 2).

    Thanks Fuego!

  • In reply to Fuegofan:

Off the top of my head, Cuesta wound up in the Spanish 3rd divisioin and Bocanegra is playing now in the 2nd division.

  • In reply to iron81:

i know its not spain but its on the iberian peninsula, big zach was in portugal for a bit.

  • Good point, iron81, about Bocanegra. I'm embarrassed to have not put that one down, though it's the opposite of his formative or even best days. I didn't know (or at least remember) about Cuesta, so thanks for that info.

And penapirata, that's true, but my mind is too Spanish to hop the border. Other US players that I can think of that have played in Spain are Altidore (Villarreal and Xerez), Keller (Rayo Vallecano), and Zetela (I know I'm spelling it wrong)(Racing Santander, just like Bocanegra, though I don't think he ever played any matches)
