  • 2012 team awards

Chris Rolfe has been named team MVP and Arne Friedrich is Defender of the Year.

  • New York beats the Union 3-0.

If the Fire win they will finish second and play the Red Bulls in the first round (unless DC scores more than 5 goals today).

Tie and they will finish fourth and play Houston on Wednesday at Toyota Park.

Lose and they will still play the Dynamo but if Houston beats Colorado the game will be at BBVA Compass Field.....the Fire don't want that.

  • Please Fire. Score the first goal today.

  • Please Fire. Score the second goal today.

  • In reply to Doug:

Heh. Should've. Sherjill has to go for placement instead of banging that ball straight into Hamid.

  • Well, that was bound to happen with the amount of space we've been giving them in our half.

  • Officiating has been fucking awful.

  • Hamid should have about five time-wasting yellows already.

  • No fire power, no pun intended. Our leading scorer has 8 goals. Flaco has been poor all season and Macdonald should have had a hat trick. There's a reason he has a poor goal scoring record his entire career. I hope the Houston game is not on 5.2.

  • sigh

  • How about that finisher?

  • Up and down tonight. They started out attacking like crazy, then really took their foot off the gas after the first goal. It took until the last 10 minutes or so for the Fire to turn it on again, but Hamid was just unstoppable. You can't really do anything about it. The Fire had their chances and would have scored on nearly anybody, but Hamid saved it for the United and nothing you can do about that. Very tough one to watch.
