  • Alright! I'm ready for this. Three games in 7 days. Bring it on!

  • Dismal start by Fire. Unable to clear the ball out of our third for long stretches of time.

poor defending on the corner. red shirts just standing around. a few minutes later, they had another break and sean stuck in between goal and the play... i dont know man.

  • Mike Chabala - what a bitch.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

He can dish it out, but he can't take it.

  • Some excellent give-and-gos. I don't remember who Segares worked one with before the beautiful cross to Pardo. I think we can take this game.

  • Second half starts just like the first. Fire can't clear. Corner after corner. Timbers goal.

  • I had just figured out that the FIre wasn't going to play until they got themselves behind. Then pop! Down 2-1. They better play now. This is embarrassing against a team that hasn't had a single goal in the run of play for 4 games.

May be time to look into an artificial leg for Gibbs and for Friedrich too!

  • REf is killing us here.

  • Yes! Robayo!

  • Grazzini receives a yellow academy award. Never understood his desire for this honor, but now he's got it, perhaps he'll be able to move on to playing soccer.

  • Why do the Fire refuse to beat certain teams, no matter had bad those teams may be? Perhaps they should replace Frank with a good shrink.

  • In reply to Arklow:

It indeed is amazing how some teams have the Fire's number , they have never beat Dallas in Toyota Park , they have only beat Houston one time ever in Toyota Pacrk and I think they have only 2 wins against Houston in the last decade, We are now 0-2-1 against Portland

  • We woke up after the first Timbers' goal to play well in the remainder of the first half, but that second half was truly dreadful.

  • This was pathetic. Think I'll go ice skating Wednesday night after all.

i used to be deflated after games like this, but now.. its just, "meh." going from hard core fan to "meh".

  • In reply to waam:

    You are not alone.

  • In reply to waam:

Hey waam, face it - if you're posting here about your reaction to the game, you're not a "meh" fan.

At least, I don't think so.

Anyways, I only saw bits and pieces of the game, unfortunately, but I'm not convinced by Oduro running solo up top. Opponents have definitely figured out how to prevent him getting those tantalizing breakaways that were his bread and butter last year during the second half of the season. I'm starting to lose faith in Grazzini as well. His strength in holding off challenges is a real issue, and he doesn't have the quickness to evade them and create something special out of it.

    In reply to Modibo:

dang it. your right. but i sure wish i was less invested sometimes... one day, one day we shall all be rewarded right?

  • On the bright side, they definitely shouldn't be tired for Wednesday's game. They hardly got passed midfield the entire second half. Frank has to talk to Grazzini about his complaining to the refs. He is becoming the MLS's answer to Dwayne Wade.

  • glad this lineup is working. mls cup 2012 here we come.

  • The Fire defense on corners and in the 18 was atrocious all game long. It reminded me of De Los Cobos's time. I had to leave after the own goal. I think I was glad I didn't watch the rest of the game. Grazzini is really starting to bug me with his lack of desire and his constant complaining. He was brought here to play soccer not games with referees. I wish he would tough it out. He's not Blanco who actually was fouled when he went down. I hope this Alex character coming over from Switzerland will give Grazzini the push he needs or outplays him and gets the starting nod.
