Happy with the move. Seems we have a good locker room with players that actually want to be here, seems he was dreaming of New York in 2010. Thought I heard somewhere allocation money was closer to 200K than 100K so I say bravo.
Pappa? Le Toux seems like a complete player who can play almost anywhere in attack. He has decent skill and I think that Oduro could be able to play off of him well. His 25 goals the past 2 seasons is a great scoring pace and It's hard to watch Portland land somebody with the record of Kris Boyd while we continue to draw forwards from the small central American leagues and MLS castoffs (despite Oduro's breakout).
The Union have 5 different strikers on their roster. They drafted Chandler Hoffman out of UCLA, McInerney, Jouse Martinez, Danny Mwanga and Antoine Hoppenot. Also, they committed to going young and they like Roger Torres and they are invested the future in him. Here is my question Conde and Le Toux were traded to other teams for allocation money, do they get more or less pending on the player based on his stock?
The amount of allocation money is determined by and agreed to by the two clubs making the deal. There is no set allocation amount for different levels of players.
Its good to see other teams have just as much lockerroom drama as the Fire (had?). Does anyone know what Ante Razov does now? Is he coaching? Maybe the Fire could hire him as a color commentator. He is a very entertaining character.
The 3rd Division? Does it really pay as well? That said, Cuenca is a great, picturesque, and very old town. If anyone has the opportunity, it's worth a day, especially to see the casas colgadas (hanging houses).
The Ballack talk is nonsense. I'm sure Klopas would be interested in just about any big time striker, but like he says in the article it will come down to whatever it would take to sign the guy. $$$$
The article doesn't really say much about Drogba other than the common sense answer from Klopas. That would be my answer if somebody asked me, "Would you be interested in (insert Drogba, Messi, Rooney, etc.)?
Yeah, hard to say there's something behind the Drogba talk at this point, although he'd be a nice addition up top with Oduro.
Honestly, regardless of whether or not any rumors are true, I just think it's nice that the Fire's name is being batted around alongside big international names for once, instead of LA and NY.
I would like the next signing to be Roman Pavlyuchenko. I think he's out of contract in the summer so he can arrive rigjht after the Euros just like the Fire always do. He can definitely score.
spurs still have time to sell him, the russian transfer window is still open and spurs are shopping Pav now that they have bought Saha
also, while Pav would be a great talent & the Fire would be lucky to have him, i think he'd rather play in a bigger league, he still has the skill to play in a top league (tho maybe not a top team in a top league anymore)
The Conde deal to New York is made official.......

Conde to the Red Bulls for undisclosed MLS funny money.
Best of luck to him in New York - a dream deferred no longer.

A six figure allocation would be an excellent deal IMO. According to Ives Galarcep he was hearing something in the $150K range.
Later Conde.
Fire have released trialists John Okafor, Omar Persad, Walter Restrepo, and open tryout winner Fabrizio Pittaluga.
4 down, few more to go.
There are some reports that Le Toux may be traded within MLS. I wouldn't mind seeing him and Oduro as our strike force.
Have to wonder what Nowak would ask for in trade.

yah portland got a coup there. Boyd was great with Rangers, tho i guess he has struggled a bit the last couple seasons in the championship
if chicago could trade pappa for le toux, i'd be all for it.
Wasn't Bolton looking at Letoux? Did they pass on him?
Not sure what the story is there....some reports say that LeToux cut the trial short at Bolton.
LeToux has confirmed the trade to Vancouver via his twitter.
Wow, will they have any strikers?
Mwanga is still there for now.
Looks like allocation money is all it took to get LeToux. Philly must have something else up their sleeves.

Edson Buddle was released from his contract... Perhaps the Conde money could be used to buy his rights from the Galaxy.
LeToux UNLOADS on Peter Nowak and the Union........
