MLS Cup Final : Los Angeles v Houston

So it's a match up of the Supporter's Shield winner against the Eastern Conference's representative, the Houston Dynamo.  A little more than a month ago I thought Houston could be in danger of missing the playoffs but road victories at Dallas and Portland coupled with a home win against the Galaxy's B team ensured them passage into post season play.  I'm still not sure they're the most talented team in the East but I'm fairly certain they're the best managed.  Dominic Kinnear has gotten the most of this bunch while earning his third trip to the final in the last six seasons even after losing players like Stuart Holden, Dwayne DeRosario, Ricardo Clark, Pat Onstad and others.

Kinnear will have one more magic act to pull off on November 20.  He'll have to beat the Los Angeles Galaxy on their home pitch without their best player. Brad Davis left with a seemingly serious injury in the first half yesterday and could be out for some time.

I can't see how Houston can keep the Galaxy away from the Cup in what could be David Beckham's last MLS match.  This season the Supporter's Shield winner and the MLS Cup winner should be one and the same.

Let's hope so....it was an excellent match to watch even with no rooting interest in either side.

  • In reply to Guillermo Rivera:

I literally thought it was impossible for Seattle kits to get more ugly than they already were. Hideous.

  • In reply to Jeff Krause:

Luckily for Sounders supporters I think they're only the third kits......still incredibly bad.
