  • while i don't particularly care how the reserve team does, i do think it's a good thing that they have been really good as it should say something about the depth of the team and that hopefully in the near-ish future some of these players will develop into starters or at least solid role/bench players. players that i'm most interested in are gulley, pineda and watson-siroboe...i wonder when/if they'll be consistent 1st teamers.

good to see banner on the pitch, must feel great for him to be playing after missing so much time.

  • Is there a reserve league playoffs/championship?

  • In reply to fcoba85:

There were plans for a playoff intially mentioned when the Reserve League was brought back but MLS scrapped those for some reason.

Cristian Nazirit and Orr Barouch also ended up trailing FC Dallas' Ruben Luna in the RL Golden Boot race. Luna has 6 with one game remaining while Nazirit and Barouch had 5 apiece.

  • Any more word on Nazarit's injury? Not that I expected to see him in the final 3 games of the season.

And are Audley and King also academy players?

  • In reply to Modibo:

Aaron King was a guest player who's been in the Rapids system and most recently FC Tampa Bay. Colin Audley, a University of Denver graduate was another guest player.

Scrap the reserve league, and create a League Cup where they all play round robin with their reserves. Give it a Sponsor. Call it the Carling Cup.

i'd like to see the reserve teams play a partial MLS reserve schedule and a partial USL schedule. it would give the reserve players more match time, give more chance for MLS teams to scout USL players, and it would give fans of USL teams a chance to see some (albeit marginal) MLS players more often
