  • Fire lead 2-0 at the half.........wow

  • In reply to Guillermo Rivera:

RLS sure is mad but Fire staying relaxed and making the most of their chances... Good game

  • Where did this team come from? This is not the team I remember from August!

  • In reply to Modibo:

Did we really spank RSL in Fortress Rio Tinto?!? Really?

  • In reply to Modibo:

Rubbing my eyes in disbelief. ;)

The Fire now have to approach the Houston match with their best 11 despite the USOC final on Tuesday. They are legitimately back in the playoff hunt with this win.

  • Wow... well that was unexpected and fantastic.

I want to echo what you just posted, GR. How does Frank approach this next week? I would say you are in a final, so of course you make that a priority... but does this new found playoff possibility change his mindset? As we know, in MLS it's often better to be red hot going in to the playoffs than it is to have a great record. What do you think?

  • In reply to RedLine55:

It's a tough call on Saturday. I think Klopas was expecting to have an opportunity to rest some guys against Houston but this changes things. Gotta go at Houston with guns blazing.

  • Wow! WOW!

  • I think Frank is going to put more emphasis on the Open Cup final than the chance at the playoffs. This is amazing. Beckerman's red card was a gift. I would completely understand if that is the decision. The Fire have a long and succesful history in the Open Cup, so I think that Frank wants to use that to motivate the team.

  • Gotta love the FIre! that big if for the playoffs just got a little smaller. I would still rather see the Fire win the Open CUp though than make the playoffs, but both would be nice :)
