A Second Home Grown Player?

According to this report the Fire will be adding a second Home Grown Player to the roster some time next week.  That player will be US U-17 striker Kellen Gulley.

A native of Clinton, Mississippi Gulley is regarded as one of the top young forward prospects in the nation and was discovered playing for the MS Chicago Fire Juniors.

Here's another link with a bit more insight on Gulley's professional aspirations.

  • At least now I don't feel bad for Fire losing to Man U...

  • Maybe the Fire should have played the All Stars.

  • CBS is running a poll to determine Chicago's "most valuable bloggers" in different categories. Not gonna suggest which blog to vote for in the sports category or anything.......

Orrin Schwarz's article on the Fire this morning including some comments from Julian Posada about the jersey sponsor issue. Could AON be a possibility?

  • In reply to Guillermo Rivera:

if that is the case there was a huge opportunity missed. Both teams with AON on their jerseys coming out of the tunnel would have been a marketing win.

    dasan robinson traded to TFC

  • I think this is a good move for the Fire. Dasan was a good guy, but ever since his rookie year, his play has not progressed. I think a change will be good for his career. Playing for Aron Winter will certainly not hurt his skill development. Again, he was a very good guy and a good person to have on the team. He will be missed.

  • getting a high 2nd round pick for robinson is a win in my book. don't know anything about gargan...can anyone fill me in? can't imagine he'll be much of a difference maker.
