Watson-Siriboe Loaned to Tampa Bay

The Fire have announced that the team has loaned defender Kwame Watson-Siriboe to the NASL's FC Tampa Bay for the remainder of the 2011 season.  The second year center back had fallen behind Josip Mikulic, Cory Gibbs, Yamith Cuesta, and Dasan Robinson for playing time at the position but has seen some action in reserve matches.

"Sending Kwame to FC Tampa Bay for the remainder of the season allows for Kwame to play games and continue to develop as a defender," said Frank Klopas.

  • I keep hearing that this move may be a precursor to an even bigger move possibly a DP move, any thoughts on this line of thinking? I don't see it as a move to bring on another defender however it could be an open roster spot for a true CM. I sure as hell hope it doesn't mean that Kristoff "Real Players Play in Europe" Krol is coming back. He can stay in the second division of the Polish leagues as far as I'm concerned!

    He just misses the Fire...

FC Tampa Bay needs a centerback because they released their centerback in McManus and need to filled that position for the green and yellow. I wish KWS the best and hope he does well.

It's obvious that Krol left the Fire not because he hated the Fire, or because the "real players are in Europe", but because he didn't get along with CDLC at ALL. It's apparent that there was friction there, that Carlos didn't utilize him like he could've last season, and that Carlos had the same grudge against Krol that he had against Kwame. If Carlos didn't get sacked this week, Krol never shows up at training, to watch or to talk to the team.

This is a good move for KWS. It'll get him some needed time on the pitch, and will def. help him develop as a player. Who knows what the backline will look like after this season, perhaps doing this with him in the 2011 season will have the same effect going to the Railhawks had with Paladini.

Tomasz Frankowski golden boot winner (14 goals) he still got it.

I certainly hope W-S would be participating more with the 1st team, but since he's not, I'm really glad they loaned him out to get some playing time. I still have hope for him to develop into a solid starter or at least one of the first subs as a defender.

Man, Krol coming back would be hilarious...talk about a dog with its tail between its legs! I want to see it happen just for the humor of it! :)

Let's ay all are healthy for a moment and play "best" line-up out there. Right now, I would go with this group:

    Chaves - Nazarit
    Nyarko- Puerrari-Pause- Oduro
    Segares-Gibbs-Cuesta-Ristic
    Johnson

  • In reply to Krasov:

put gaston up top, nazarit and pause on the bench, and put paladini and bone in the middle.

so how long is mikulic out for? and do you think that frankie will start gaston and diego up top?

  • In reply to firefan1998:

worked well at the begining of the season...

  • In reply to Adam25:

Today. Either that, or he puts Nazarit up top again, and brings Gaston in for Nazarit in the 2nd half.

  • I would hope for a beast CM also, but it is curious why Krol would be hanging out. Maybe he's jest being social, or maybe it is like Tone said in the prvs post, a green card, non-international player status would be interesting.
