  • The Fire's US Open Cup play in game against Colorado on March 30 in Peoria will be webcast live on Chicago-Fire.com.

  • Fire reserves will play Lousville this Sunday at 10 am the Toyota Park practice field.

  • In reply to cesba:

Who are the starters for that game?

  • In reply to longoria3:

We'll find out Sunday...probably the guys who don't dress on Saturday.

  • In reply to longoria3:

dasan robinson is a more than capable backup, and KWS has a year under his belt, with several matches experience at least. kinney still recovering from injury but i feel more comfortable about the back line backups this season than i did last

  • In reply to CountChocula:

That is a good problem to have on their team. Every MLS team needs depth at every position.

  • In reply to CountChocula:

IF you get a chance check out the new MLS review show on MLSsoccer.com, pretty good..............

  • In reply to CountChocula:

Tomorrow's All In podcast will feature a media roundtable discussion with Jeff Crandall, Sam Stejskal, Orrin Schwarz, Tweed Thornton, and me. Should be interesting.

  • In reply to longoria3:

i'll even go far as to say banner looked good at LB last season vs LAgalaxy, i'd rather see him play there than at left wing where all he does is give the ball away

  • In reply to longoria3:

Per Sam.....Ristic sustained a quad injury on Saturday. Status unknown for KC game.

  • In reply to longoria3:

here we go again... just hope its not another thorrington/carr type quad injury

  • In reply to longoria3:

Jeff Crandall's article on Josip Mikulic's debut and route to the Fire......

  • In reply to cesba:

Good article, and I think its easy to forget that other leagues don't have the attendance we have here

  • In reply to cesba:

Funny how Fire went up in rankings from bottom to middle of pack...

  • In reply to Adam25:

they are getting no respect from the media so far. they'll be under the radar for a month or two

  • In reply to Adam25:

MLSsoccer releases its "team of the week" - no chicago fire on the list

  • In reply to CountChocula:

Thought Hartman should have been in goal ahead of Rimando.

  • In reply to CountChocula:

Wow. How did Davies not make that list. I mean, sentimental feelings aside for him scoring 2 goals in his first official MLS match....he...scored 2 goals in his first MLS match. *scratches head*

  • In reply to DFBJeff:

he pretty much didnt touch the ball in the match other than the 2 goals (one was pk remember). that still earned him a honorable mention

  • In reply to CountChocula:

Did anyone else watch the Libertad and Once Caldas Copa de Libertadores match? Libertad essentially knocked out Juan Carlos Rosario's side on a last second equalizer in stoppage time.

Old JCR totally freaked out on the sidelines! Poor guy!! I guess its the second time its happened to Once Caldas in the tourney.

I wonder how long he's going to last! Back to the MLS?

  • In reply to Roti2000:

Roti2000, correction....his name is Juan Carlos Osorio

  • In reply to longoria3:

Lol! WTF is my problem?!?! Trying to forget him, I guess

  • In reply to Roti2000:

News coming on Calen Carr's situation today?

  • In reply to cesba:

    Release?

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

Not sure yet....heading to TP later this morning for training and the All In podcast. Stay tuned.

  • In reply to cesba:

no reason to release him unless his injury is chronic enough to make him thorrington, or they have another striker lined up (perhaps the long rumored international striker?)

  • In reply to CountChocula:

well the past few seasons he has been doing a pretty good thorington impression.

  • In reply to CountChocula:

Traded with Chivas for a defender.. when are they going to decide on Ferrari or open tryout guy

  • In reply to lijien:

Pretty sure they've decided on those 2 guys....just waiting for MLS paperwork to clear to make announcement.

  • In reply to cesba:

According to EPLtalk, the friendly against Manchester United on July 23 will be played at Soldier Field. Official announcement coming March 29......

  • In reply to cesba:

chavez got the goal, but he had a lot of heavy touches & didnt control the ball as well as he should have

the 3 man backline was solid for the most part, a few mistakes early on that didnt cost em, but got better as the game went on IMO

but i gave my vote to puerari, who showed speed, good workrate in getting to the ball and pressing the dallas defense, and good anticipation stealing the ball a few times from shea. if he had only made a better split-second decision on that breakaway, he woulda had the goal (or an assist)

  • I went with Mikulic because he had to plug into a 3 man line then switch to a 4 man line, never playing with the other players, against a dangerous offensive team not to mention the communication needed to defend.. while puerari had a nice game, I think as a situation it is a bit easier to plug into withdrawn fwd role, playing behind a guy you have history with

  • Mikulic looks like a great find, I went with him also, however the backline has to watch the yellows, think we picked up four, could have several second stringers in if they are not careful, at least the Fire has some depth on defense.
