  • What? after giving him a new contract. Iguess roster still at 28?

  • Looks like one last chance for both of them -- sometimes new scenery makes all the difference ---- Good luck Calen and Dominic

  • Cuesta will take up the 7th international roster spot, leaving only one available. Oduro has a green card and will not occupy an international spot.

  • speed for speed. crap finishing for crap finishing

    lol

  • This is AWESOME.. I think everyone should be more excited about Oduro.. dude is fast as hell! I think he could do A LOT for us!! GO FIRE! WELCOME Oduro!!!!

  • GR, How was pratice? When is the podcast come out?

  • Did I tell you Calen was a goner? I think that Oduro has a rep for being uncoachable. He'll be better at coming off the bench than Calen was primarily because he is lightning fast and can scare the $#@! out of keepers because they won't know for sure if he will or will not trample them. At times, he plays like a red card waiting to happen.

  • Missed a sitter in front of the goal? So you're saying we traded Carr for Chad Barrett?

  • Offical now on Fire web site.

  • both fast, both mediocre finishers...so is oduro as fragile as carr? if not, i'd say we made the right move.

  • So, now we have two Ghanaian speedsters who have trouble finishing... wonder if CDLC will start Nyarko now and sub him out around the 60 min mark for Oduro.

  • post on bigsoccer says oduro salary is less as well. i'd say good move by the Fire getting a player thats likely to be available for more matches and cheaper price, even if similar quality

  • In reply to CountChocula:

nm, a guy from the houston forums says salary is the same as carrs - 75k

  • In reply to CountChocula:

How long the transfer window open to? I thought rosters were final on 3/26?

  • In reply to Adam25:

    15 January

  • In reply to CountChocula:

I like this move by Klopas, providing depth at the striker position with Puerari and Chaves. This move means some time to give youngsters Paul and Barouch to develop in the Reserve League.

  • In reply to longoria3:

The Fire actually made a trade with another MLS team!

  • In reply to DerSting:

Last year, the Fire acquired Freddie Ljungberg from Seattle for their 2nd round pick.

  • In reply to longoria3:

How often do they swap players? Trades are usually for draft picks or allocation money.

  • In reply to DerSting:

    Barrett for McBride in 2008.

  • In reply to DerSting:

the knee injury did something to calen,,,,maybe in the head but he wasnt the same after that

  • In reply to bert:

Well, it turns out it WAS in his head.

Carr apparently suffered a concussion. Its not even clear if he will play this season.

  • In reply to DerSting:

"THE WATCHER" good job GR. The audio kind of sucked but overall good job to all the guys.

  • In reply to longoria3:

    this is funny
joshuamayers <-- writer for seattle tweeted In a scouting report of Houston, Sigi Schmid mentioned Dominic Oduro. When he was informed of the Calen Carr trade he said: "Eh, same thing"

  • In reply to lijien:
